This type of grant is provided to fund the education and training programmes as outlined by the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR).
These grants are intended as an incentive for employers to plan and implement training for their employees. In addition, mandatory grants promote the development of NQF-registered qualifications that address scarce and critical skills needs. They also dramatically improve on the quantity and quality of labour market information received by all SETAs, which drives continuous and measurable improvement.
A mandatory grant is payable to skills levy paying employers on submission of an annual Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report. SASSETA will pay a percentage HOW MUCH? of the total levies back to the employer. Payments are made quarterly.
