Our mission and vision
Mandate
Our mandate is to promote and facilitate skills development for the safety and security sector. Established in terms of the Skills Development Act, No.97 of 1998, SASSETA operates within the skills development outlines stated by the National Skills Development Strategy III (NSDS III) framework.
The Minister of Higher Education and Training relicensed the SETAs for the period of April 2011 to March 2018. Since then, this has been extended for a further two years until 31 March 2020.
Vision
To be the leader in skills development for the safety and security sector.
Mission
We are an education and training authority that ensures quality provision of skills development and qualifications for South African citizens within the safety and security environment through effective and efficient partnerships.
